NURS 641L Nursing Education Teaching practicum

Teaching Practicum Students are placed in schools of nursing, staff development or client education settings that are not a regular part of their current job. Practicum includes time with the mentor, class and clinical observation time, class and clinical preparation time, and actual classroom teaching and clinical supervision time. Mentors must have a minimum of a MSN. Students initiate contact with a mentor in one educational setting who will work with the student to help meet their course objectives. Students develop personal learning objectives for the teaching practicum. Students are required to prepare for and teach in at least one theory and clinical class and participate in clinical and simulation as well as administration in at least one educational setting.
