NURS 561 Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

This course of study provides comprehensive analysis of major concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. All population groups are addressed with separate emphases for individuals, families, and communities, conveying multicultural perspectives important to care planning. Extensive coverage of growth and development throughout the life span emphasizes the unique problems and health promotion needs during each stage of development. The student will be able to present a realistic clinical scenario, discuss current research efforts in health promotion, and explore significant issues, trends, and controversies in health promotion to spark critical discussion and debate.
