PT 714 Clinical Skills II: Therapeutic Exercise and Physical Agents

This the second course in the clinical skills series designed to provide students with an overview of the basic principles related to physical agents and therapeutic exercise. Topics include tissue injury and repair, as well as acute and chronic physiologic adaptation to aerobic and anaerobic exercise. The impact of various disease states on exercise capacity will be explored as well as appropriate dosage parameters of therapeutic exercise. In addition, the application of therapeutic exercise prescription, therapeutic agents and medical documentation will be emphasized as related to pathologic conditions commonly seen in physical therapy practice.
